sugary sweet VOICE - The name of the site I thought of many years ago, before I realized what a crappy name it is. It was a project begun on April 10, 2005, which would make this the second year it's been around. Really, that is a long time for someone who can barely commit herself to do some homework or studying. Anyhow, it was first hosted on a pesky little site filled with ads, offering very little space and bandwidth ... namely, Geocities. Before long, the source of the music - my computer - had crashed due to a few viruses and nasties. I wasn't too familiar with Internet security and little did I know that I was infected with nail.exe, Aurora, and a bunch of Trojans. All I had at the time was the Norton Antivirus program that came preinstalled with my computer, and it failed to get rid of any of the nasties on my computer. Thus, I was forced to reformat, losing all my songs and data. In October, I had recovered most of my data and discovered an offer made by Yuko on my tagboard - free webhosting on her server. Of course, any escape from Geocities had my approval, and in a few weeks, I was settled at Yuko's server - waltz-away.net. It was a very wonderful year and some months, almost two years I had been hosted there and I was very grateful for Yuko. She's still the same kind goddess that had happily offered space on her server for me, although she no longer hosts me. I had discovered, sometime in March or April, that Yuko could no longer keep her domain due to financial difficulties. Thus, SSV was abandoned for a few months, as I was busy with finals and AP exams and could not keep up with the site any longer. Not too long ago, I had asked Rae of shinjuu.net if I too, could be part of her network, and she had accepted my application. I could not be happier that SSV was to live again and I am very thankful for Rae and her kindness. A few months later - we find ourselves here today, possibly reading this, as I finally decided to use the space that Rae gave me. Let's hope that sugary sweet VOICE will be here for a long, long time from now on. :) |
